Saint Seiya Awakening is a gacha game, and like all gacha games, the main goal is to obtain characters, level them up, and build teams with them. This guide will help you understand the core mechanics and get started on the right path. Whether you're a fan of the original series or new to the Saint Seiya universe, this game offers deep strategic gameplay with your favorite characters.

Get New Characters
The most important thing in any gacha game is learning how to obtain new characters and understanding the gacha system. Building your roster of Saints is crucial for progression. There are several methods to obtain new characters, each with its own advantages and requirements. Check the Tier List for the best characters in the game.
There are many ways to obtain summoning gems. The main way is by collecting diamonds and purchasing 11 x 1000 diamonds from the store (do not purchase directly from the summoning screen). There are also many in-game events that reward players with summons.
Summons
The primary way to get new Saints. Use Advanced Gems to perform summons in the Summon menu.
- Normal Summon: We will use Common Gems to obtain lower-ranked characters.
- Advanced Summon: Here we can get all the characters within the summon pool.
- Themed Summons: The summon we will all use. Here we get the units from the themed banner.
- Pity System: The game guarantees an S character after 410 summons, and a guaranteed EX/SS Character after 550 summons.
Shards Collection
Collect character shards from various sources to acquire specific characters.
- Event Shops: Shards are frequently available for purchase in various event shops.
- Legion Share: You can request shards within your Legion (up to 2 per day for S and SS/EX ranks).
- Friendship Levels: Increasing your friendship level with a specific character will reward you with 9 shards for that character.
- Event Drops: Many in-game events feature shard boxes. Some provide shards for specific characters, while others offer random shards.
Events & Login Rewards
Participate in events and claim daily rewards to obtain free characters.
- Special Events: Time-limited events that offer character rewards via boxes.
- Daily Lucky Draw: This is a lucky wheel event that allows you to pull a specific unit.
The primary way to obtain characters is through Themed Summons. This is where you will get characters for your lineup, making it the most important event in the game and summoning gems one of the most valuable resources. Therefore, before summoning, you should check the Lucky Cat Event to get more summons for free.
Leveling Up the Account
Leveling Up Leveling up is the easiest way to progress. First, focus on increasing your Account Level, as this unlocks new game modes and features that are restricted at lower levels. The most efficient method is spending Stamina in Dungeons; this allows you to farm character resources while simultaneously gaining Account XP. The most recommended modes are The Shrine (for Cosmos) and Astral Space (for 7th and 8th Sense Materials), which provide essential materials to level up your characters. Additionally, progressing through the Main Story and Side Story modes grants a significant amount of experience points.
Saint Temple (Flower Temple)
Each character is automatically assigned to a specific temple. These temples grant stat bonuses based on the temple's level, the number of characters you own within that temple, and their respective star levels.
Treasure Pavilion
As you progress through PvE modes and clear dungeons, you will activate bonuses within these temples. Depending on the bonus, these buffs may apply to PvE, PvP, or both.
Advance Pavilions
There are more advanced pavilions that unlock later in the game, such as Will of Stars, Rebirth Codex, Awakened Cloth Pavilion, and the Skill Pavilion; however, these are part of a more advanced guide.
Leveling Up Characters
To increase your Account Level and unlock new dungeons, you need strong characters. Once you have acquired your units, choose your composition (check the Tier List or Teams section if you're unsure) and start upgrading them.
Character Level
You should increase your characters' levels and star ranks as quickly as possible. This will unlock full Cosmos slots, as well as the 7th Sense and 8th Sense. The leveling system in Saint Seiya Awakening requires Experience Points (XP), while increasing star ranks requires sacrificing other characters.
7th and 8th Sense
You need to activate all 7th sense in order to use all the character skills and get an important buff in stats. After that, we have to unlock the 8th Sense to dramatically increase stats, but it requires significant investment so as a new players, you should focus on it only on your top units.
Skill Upgrades
To level up skills, you need either duplicate copies of the character or Skill Books. Be careful: Skill Books are one of the most precious items in the game, so it is crucial to know which units are worth the investment. Currently, it is not recommended to use character copies for skill-ups, as the Reincarnation Event requires those duplicates.
Cosmos (Equipment)
Once a character reaches 4 Stars, all their Cosmos slots will be unlocked. Cosmos are one of the easiest ways to power up your characters from the start. Obtaining powerful Cosmos early on isn't very difficult and provides a significant boost. They remain essential from the early game all the way to end-game accounts.
Awakened Cloth
The game introduced a system called Cloth Awakening. In this mode, you must collect armor pieces for your character to unlock stat bonuses and, most importantly, new and improved skill mechanics. Many characters absolutely require their Awakened Cloth to be functional; without it, they are significantly weaker. However, this is mostly available for units released at least a couple of years ago. A new awakening is released every month, usually following the original release timeline. Since new units do not have an Awakened Cloth system yet, they are often more recommended for new players.
Daily Activities
It is highly recommended to complete all daily activities. Once you reach a certain level, you will unlock a button in the menu that allows you to complete them all at once, though this is limited to the dungeon levels or activities you have already unlocked.
Must-Do Daily
- Daily Quests: Complete all tasks for diamonds, resources, and account EXP
- Dimension (Dungeons): Farm EXP Tomes, Gold, Skill Tomes, and Cosmos materials
- Athena’s Trials: Provides Cosmos and XP.
- Mystical Treasure: A source of free diamonds.
- Arena Battles: Participate in at least 5 battles for Arena coins and diamonds.
- Legion Boss: Coordinate with Legion members for rewards.
Weekly Activities
- Hades Expedition: Achieve high scores by attacking bosses to earn top-tier rewards.
- Seal Tower: Progress through the tower floors; it offers excellent prizes.
- Arctic Challenge: Defeat two specific bosses to claim rewards.
Don't let your Stamina cap out! Use it throughout the day on dungeons and farming.
