Saint Seiya Awakening uses a gacha system for acquiring new characters. Understanding the summoning rates, themed banners, and shard mechanics is crucial for efficient resource management. This guide breaks down everything you need to know about the summoning system.
The game has two kind of summons: Normal and Advanced. Normal Summon is a basic summon that gives you only C, B and A rank characters, while Advanced Summon gives you the chance to get all of them plus S, SS, and EX rank characters. For the purposes of this guide, we will use advance summons.
Summoning Rates
| Rarity | Base Rate | Description |
|---|---|---|
| SS | 0.4% | Highest rarity characters, usually reserved to Gods in Saint Seiya universe. |
| EX | 0.4% | Exclusive characters with unique abilities, like the SS, but not limited to gods. |
| S | 3.5% | Rare and powerful characters. Here comes the most characters in the game. |
| A | 20% | Solid characters for early-mid game with some exceptions on high level tiers. However, some of them are really exclusive. |
| B | 76.1% | Common characters and fodder, but they have some use. |
Important: All S/SS Saints have an equal probability of acquisition. In Themed Summon pools, the featured character has a higher rate than other S/SS characters.
Since 2024, we have a new pity system, after 400 summons you get the featured character guaranteed (S Rank). After 550 summons, you get the SS/EX rank featured character guaranteed.

Lucky Cat Event
This is the most important event in the game and the one that will ensure you always have enough summoning gems for characters. Read all about this event here.
Time-Limited Exclusives
Time-Limited Themed Summon S/SS/EX Saints are only available in their respective Themed Summon Pool. during the event period.
Pity System
Themed Summon banners feature a pity system where after 400 summons, you are guaranteed the featured S rank character, and after 550 summons, you are guaranteed the featured SS/EX rank character.
After Event Ends
Once an event ends, Time-Limited S/SS/EX Saints will not join the Advanced Summon pool. However, S/SS/EX Saints use to be added to the pool in their rerun or after some time.
Occasional Returns
Some Time-Limited Themed Summon S/SS/EX Saints will occasionally return to the Advanced Summon pool during special events or reruns.
