Bad news FMA fans. Sadly, Fullmetal Alchemist Mobile (JPN) has ceased operations, as confirmed by the recently issued End of Service notice on their Twitter account during the holiday season. Despite its release in the summer of 2022, the game, dedicated to exploring the realm of alchemy alongside the Elric brothers, never expanded its reach to a global audience.
The window to enjoy its offerings extends until March 29th, 2024. However, as the game approaches its final run day, updates will become less frequent, and no new in-game events will be introduced.
Despite the inherent popularity of the series, Fullmetal Alchemist Mobile met an untimely demise. Speculations on Reddit have hinted at a potential Square Enix curse affecting the IP, as two other games under the same publisher, Engage Kill and Dragon Quest Tact, also received End of Service announcements this week. While the exact reasons remain undisclosed, financial considerations are often a key factor.
Further details and an official announcement regarding the End of Service are likely to emerge on the game’s Official Website in the coming days, shedding light on the specifics behind this unfortunate decision.
With this, a Global version may never see the light.
